Alagu Ashwin Muthiah

Alagu Ashwin Muthiah is a Director on the Board of Wilson International Trading Private Limited, Singapore, part of AM International Holdings. As a member of the leadership team, she contributes to the expansion of the group’s global footprint, leveraging her strengths in the service sector with a special focus on customer centricity.

She works closely with the senior and middle management to drive strategic business development initiatives for the international market. Her focus is on geographic expansion opportunities for Wilson International in Europe.

Alagu is the second of the fourth generation of the founder’s family. Previously, she interned at LunaJets, a leader in private jet charter solutions in Geneva and The Four Seasons Hotel group, a leading hospitality chain. Earlier, she was part of Julius Bär’s ‘Young Partners Program’ in Switzerland and interned with Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific in Singapore and The Hindu in Chennai, India.

She has volunteered for the Initiative for Peace, promoting peace and seeking solutions to human rights issues.

Alagu holds an MA (Hons.) in Business Administration and Management from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland and MSc in Luxury Management and Guest Experience from Glion Institute of Higher Education, Switzerland.

Ashwin Muthiah

Ashwin Muthiah is the Chairman of Wilson International Trading Private Limited, Singapore.

As the Chairman of AM International, he heads the diversified, multinational business group. With a legacy of over three decades, today, the USD 2 billion group has footprints across India, Southeast Asia and UK.

A third-generation business leader, Ashwin has led the group since 2001; he initiated the strategic re-orientation of various business entities to transform them into future-ready and sustainable entities in the new global economic environment. Today, the AM International group’s businesses span diverse, traditional and new-age businesses across fertilizers, petrochemicals, distribution, infrastructure, healthcare and green energy.

Besides helming the management at the parent company, Ashwin also serves the various group companies in leadership capacities. Ashwin is the Chairman of Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation (SPIC), Manali Petrochemicals Limited (MPL) and Sicagen India Limited and the Vice Chairman of Tamilnadu Petroproducts Limited (TPL). Previously, he held the position of the Chairman of Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited and SICAL Logistics Limited. Besides, he also serves on the Board of the group’s subsidiaries.

Ashwin is the Consul General Ad Honorem for the Republic of Philippines. As a leading industry figure, he has previously served as a member of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).

Ashwin’s philanthropic interests are focused on the areas of prevention of water contamination, water scarcity and solving the sanitation crisis through the CSR efforts of AM Foundation. Ashwin is a trustee of the Saigon Chettiars’ Temple Trust in Singapore that promotes ancient history, culture and traditions.

Ashwin is a commerce graduate from Loyola College, Chennai. After completing his post-graduation in management studies he gained business knowledge in the family enterprise. Ashwin lives in Singapore with his wife Valli and their two daughters. He divides his time between Singapore, India, and UK for business.

Manish Nagpal

Manish has over two decades of experience working in the fertilizer industry. He has extensive knowledge of structured finance, international trade, risk management and corporate finance. Manish currently serves as the Director and CEO of Wilson International Trading; he also serves on the Board of Greenstar Fertilizers.

Manish is responsible for driving strategic new business opportunities and synergies in the Group’s businesses. His financial acumen and experience in fund-raising lend an edge in ensuring efficient capital allocation for each business vertical.

Prior to his current role, Manish was associated with Chemoil Energy Ltd, Singapore.
